1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They are equipped with motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also feature carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and works when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you need to, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and offer better cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area rug. Its obstacle detection was great, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the rivals. best rated robot vacuum of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing some more volume and some extra cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.
If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Additionally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd think from its price. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app also grants access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
